You think of someone and they call you or you run into them at a store.

If this happens you should ask yourself, “Why is this person coming into my life at this time?” “What does this mean?”

What if you think of something and you see an ad for it?

We are all connected. Is there a cosmic connection that passes thoughts or feelings to each other?

The dictionary defines Coincidences as, “the occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection”

But is there a such thing as Coincidences? Some paranormal researchers don’t believe there is.

It is difficult to find a natural explanation too why a surprising coincidence occurs. In attempting to find one, we might be inclined to accept a paranormal explanation Most researchers believe that circumstances are predetermined and will happen regardless of our input. There is also a belief that a higher power is controlling the outcome and will make things seem to match up in history.

Different circumstances can be attributed to your guardian angels. Is it a circumstance that you decided last minute to take a different route to work only to find out that there was an accident at a corner you would have gone through if you hadn't gone the other way? Or you feel like you forgot something only to run into someone who reminds you of that thing you forgot.

The timeless killing.

Henry Jigland broke up with his girlfriend who killed herself, Her brother looked for him and when he found him he shot Jigland. Thinking he finished him he took his own life.  But he didn’t know that he missed Jigland and the bullet got lodged in a tree. Years later Jigland wanted to cut the tree down. But he used explosives and when he detonated the tree the explosion threw the bullet into him killing him instantly.

The Jim twins

Twins James Jim Lewis and Jams Jim Springer we separated just after birth and adopted out to separate families. They grew up with no contact with each other and had no knowledge of each other. When they finally did meet at the age of 39 they found out they were living identical lives. They both had dogs named Toy. They excelled in math and woodworking. They both married a woman named Linda and divorced. They both married again to a woman named Betty. They both had sons and they named them James Allen.  They both smoked the same cigarettes, Drove Chevy, and vacationed at the same Florida Beach.

The falling babies of Detroit.

1937 A street sweeper Joseph Figloc from Detroit was cleaning the street when a baby fell out of the fourth floor of a building onto him. He saved the baby's life when it fell on him. A year later he was sweeping in an alleyway when a baby fell from another building onto Figloc saving the baby’s life.

Eger Alien Poe and the Calobleized Boy.

Eger Alien Poe wrote a fictional book called “The Narrative of Arther Gorden Pin of Nantucket. The book is told of 4 shipwreck survivors who after time in the ocean resorted to canalization. They killed and Ater a boy named Richerd Parker. Several years after he published the book a yack named The Minuet sank and there were 4 survivors who were alone in a lifeboat. The 3 older survivors killed and ate the cabin boy named Richerd Parker.

The 27 Club

This started with the death of Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones. Then Jim Morison, Janis Joplin, and Jimmy Hendrix. As time went on, Kerk Cobane passed at the age of 27. Recently Amy Winehouse passed at the age of 27. She stated in an interview that she was concerned about that age.  Overall, the 27-club claimed over 60 artists, musicians and actors.

The Unsinkable Violet Jessop.

Violet Jessop was a maritime nurse who was on the RMS Olympic when the ship collided with the warship HMS Hauk in 1911. The Olympic almost sank but made it to port safely. Jessop was reassigned to The Titanic for its maiden voyage. When it sank in 1912 she survived and was reassigned to the HMHS Britannic which sank in 1916 from an explosion when the ship hit a mine. Where she survived.

The Titan and The Titanic.

In 1898 Morgan Robertson wrote the novel The Wreck of The Titan. The plot revolves around the HMS Titan a British luxury liner that hit an iceberg and sank killing almost everyone on board. In 1912 the Titanic sank in the exact same fashion. Both ships were named unsinkable, both hit an iceberg in the month of April, 400 miles of the coast of New Finland, Both were proximity 800 feet long, and both resulted in the deaths of 2000 people. Both ships didn’t have the correct number of lifeboats and life jackets.

JFK and Abraham Lincon.

Both were elected to congress 100 years apart in 1846 and 1946. The both became presidents 14 years later in 1860 and 1960. Both were guided down by fatal wands to the head. Both were suspended by men named Johnson, who were born 100 years apart. They both died on Friday. Their names contained 7 letters; both of their assassins were killed before trial. Both had 4 children and both lost a son during their time in the Whitehouse. Lincon’s secretary named Kenidy warned him not to go to the theater on the night he was assassinated while Kenidy’s secretary named Lincon, warned him not to go to Dallis. Both vice presidents who assumed office were named Johnson. Both were born 100 years apart. 1808 and 1908

Two events are said to constitute a coincidence if they occur in such a way as to strike an observer as being highly related as regards their structure or their “meaning”; to dismiss such an occurrence as a “mere coincidence” is to imply the belief that each event arose as a result of quite independent causal chains (that is, they are “acausal”) and that no further “meaning” or significance is to be found in this fortuitous concurrence; sometimes, however, a sense of impressiveness is engendered by the belief that the concurrence is so very unlikely as to have been the result of “pure chance” that there must be some cause or reason for the concurrence, thus investing the coincidence with a sense of meaningfulness. In West Virginian folklore, the Mothman is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register, dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something".  The national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the United States. The source of the legend is believed to have originated from sightings of out-of-migration sandhill cranes or herons.

The creature was introduced to a wider audience by Gray Barker in 1970, and was later popularized by John Keel in his 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies, claiming that there were paranormal events related to the sightings, and a connection to the collapse of the Silver Bridge. The book was later adapted into a 2002 film, starring Richard Gere.[

History

On November 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant—Roger and Linda Scarberry, and Steve and Mary Mallette—told police they had seen a large black creature whose eyes "glowed red", standing at the side of the road near "the TNT area", the site of a former World War II munitions plant. Linda Scarberry described it as a "slender, muscular man" about seven feet tall with white wings, and said that she was unable to discern its face due to the hypnotic effect of its eyes. Distressed, the witnesses drove away at high speed, and said that the creature flew after their car, making a screeching sound. It pursued them as far as Point Pleasant city limits.

During the next few days, other people reported similar sightings, after local newspapers reported it. Two volunteer firemen who saw it said it was a "large bird with red eyes". Mason County Sheriff George Johnson commented that he believed the sightings were due to an unusually large heron he termed a "shitepoke". Contractor Newell Partridge told Johnson that when he aimed a flashlight at a creature in a nearby field, its eyes glowed "like bicycle reflectors". Additionally, he blamed buzzing noises from his television set and the disappearance of his German Shepherd dog on the creature. Wildlife biologist Robert L. Smith at West Virginia University told reporters that descriptions and sightings all fit the sandhill crane, a large American crane almost as tall as a man with a seven-foot wingspan featuring circles of reddish coloring around the eyes. The bird may have wandered out of its migration route, and therefore was unrecognized at first because it was not native to this region.

Due to the popularity of the Batman TV series at the time, the fictional superhero Batman and his rogues gallery were prominently featured in the public eye. While the villain Killer Moth did not appear in the show, the comic book influence of both him and Batman is believed by some to have influenced the coinage of the name "Mothman" in the local newspapers.

Following the December 15, 1967 collapse of the Silver Bridge and the death of 46 people, the incident gave rise to the legend and connected the Mothman sightings to the bridge collapse.

According to Georgian newspaper Svobodnaya Gruziya, Russian UFOlogists claim that Mothman sightings in Moscow foreshadowed the 1999 Russian apartment bombings.

The Mothman Prophecies (2002) is a major motion picture, loosely based on the 1975 book of the same name by John Keel.

In 2016, WCHS-TV published a photo purported to be of Mothman taken by an anonymous man while driving on Route 2 in Mason County. Science writer Sharon A. Hill proposed that the photo showed "a bird, perhaps an owl, carrying a frog or snake away" and wrote that "there is zero reason to suspect it is the Mothman as described in legend. There are too many far more reasonable explanations."

Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster (Scottish Gaelic: Uilebheist Loch Nis), affectionately known as Nessie, is a creature in Scottish folklore that is said to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is often described as large, long-necked, and with one or more humps protruding from the water. Popular interest and belief in the creature have varied since it was brought to worldwide attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal with a number of disputed photographs and sonar readings.

The scientific community explains alleged sightings of the Loch Ness Monster as hoaxes, wishful thinking, and the misidentification of mundane objects. The pseudoscience and subculture of cryptozoology have placed particular emphasis on the creature.

Origin of the name

In August 1933, the Courier published the account of George Spicer's alleged sighting. Public interest skyrocketed, with countless letters being sent in detailing different sightings describing a "monster fish," "sea serpent," or "dragon," with the final name ultimately settling on "Loch Ness monster."Since the 1940s, the creature has been affectionately called Nessie (Scottish Gaelic: Niseag.

Energy vampires

Energy vampires are people who sap your emotional energy, either intentionally or unconsciously. They could be friends, family members, partners, colleagues, or neighbors, who feed on your care and attention and can leave you feeling stressed, drained, exhausted, and overwhelmed.

Relationships with energy vampires are often toxic. They can cause you to feel physically and emotionally drained, particularly if you’re an empath and highly attuned to the emotions of the people around you.1

What Are the Different Types of Energy Vampires?

The victim: Some people enjoy playing the victim card and are always ready with a new sob story about a perceived slight. They are innocent but the whole world is always against them. They tend to complain often and loudly about their problems.

The criticizer: Some people spend a lot of time and energy criticizing other people, things, and situations. Nothing is ever good enough for them and they can find fault with just about anything.

The dramatizer: Some people create and attract a lot of drama. They always seem to be in the midst of a major catastrophe and often need your help and support.

The manipulator: Some people are able to manipulate just about any situation to their advantage. They rarely say what they mean and usually have a hidden agenda.

The negative thinker: Some people always see the glass as half empty and have a very negative attitude toward life. They can always be counted on to point out the downside or potential risks, without leaving any room for hope or excitement.

The blamer: Some people are quick to place blame on others. They’re never at fault but always willing to hand out heaps of shame and guilt.

Energy vampires are extremely self-centered and always want to be the center of attention. They dominate the conversation and ensure the focus is always on themselves. If someone else brings up a different topic, they find a way to one-up them and bring the attention back to themselves.

What is Horror Fiction?

Horror is a genre of literature, film, and television that is meant to scare, startle, shock, and even repulse audiences. The key focus of a horror novel, horror film, or horror TV show is to elicit a sense of dread in the reader through frightening images, themes, and situations. In the horror genre, story and characters are just as important as mood and atmosphere. A horror story often shocks and provokes with its exploration of the unknown.

The horror genre in literature dates back to Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, where horror stories explored themes related to death, demons, evil spirits, and the afterlife. Examples include the ancient Greek tragedy Hippolytus by Euripides, a gruesome story about how jealousy and a lack of empathy can lead to tragedy; and Parallel Lives by Plutarch, a series of biographies highlighting the many moral failures of man.

The gothic novel, a genre of horror that focuses specifically on death, originated in the eighteenth century and is exemplified by the author Edgar Allan Poe. Horror literature in the nineteenth century and twentieth centuries often focused on tales involving occult ideas, like Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein (1818) or Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897).

Modern horror novels have expanded the genre to include new elements and contemporary themes, like serial killers and slasher stories—Stephen King’s The Shining (1977) is a perfect example—as well as genre mashups that combine horror with historical fantasy, and modern interpretations of fantastical creatures, like ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and witches.

What is a Medium?

Whether one refers to him- or herself as a psychic medium, spiritual medium, intuitive medium or any other similar title, it's all essentially the same thing—the emphasis being on talking to spirits in the afterlife. While I refer to myself as a "psychic medium," there is a big difference between a psychic and a medium.

A psychic isn't necessarily a medium, but a medium is a psychic. This is an important distinction and a good place to start, because I meet clients all the time who misunderstand the difference and confuse the two.

Psychics tune into the energy of people or objects by feeling or sensing elements of their past, present and future. Simply put, psychics rely on their basic sense of intuition and psychic ability to gather information for the person being read.

Mediums take it a step further. A medium uses his or her psychic or intuitive abilities to see the past, present and future events of a person by tuning into the spirit energy surrounding that person. This means mediums rely on the presence of non-physical energy outside of themselves for the information relevant to the person being read.

Similarly, all medical students are required to take the basic entry-level medical courses, such as physics, biology and chemistry. Premed students are trained in the basics before moving on to higher-level courses and choosing their medical specialty, such as cardiology, pediatrics or oncology.

The emphasis of my work is mediumship: making connections with and delivering messages from people who are no longer living to those who still are. I receive information primarily and directly from the dead, spirit guides and angels.

While there are a few different forms of mediumship, I work as a mental medium, which means I communicate with spirits through the use of telepathy. Spirits impress my mind and body with thoughts and feelings that come in the form of "clairs." I mentally "hear" (clairaudience), "see" (clairvoyance), "know" (claircognizance) and/or "feel" (clairsentience) messages from spirits. I like to say that I act as the bridge between the spiritual and the physical world, with the intention of healing both worlds.

With my degree in journalism as well as documentary film production, I have contributed content to several publications and broadcasts, including Great Lakes Echo, MSU Today, and WILX-TV.

Three years ago, I began providing freelance editing services for a local property management company; and worked as a videographer and photographer for the Emmy-winning film “Breed & Bootleg: Legends of Flint Rap Music."

While at Michigan State University in 2017, I created "Afterlife Road: A Haunted Michigan Webseries." Who knew a couple of college students making paranormal-related videos could reach over 185,000 collective viewers? After more than 200 episodes under our belt, the series wrapped upon graduation. It was then that what initially began as a small YouTube project morphed into something bigger: Afterlife Road Productions.

Afterlife Road Production prioritizes compelling paranormal storytelling and documentary filmmaking. What Is a Medium?

One of the most common questions asked is what is the difference between a medium and a psychic. The term “psychic” is often used as a catchall phrase for anyone who works in the paranormal. We know what our five senses are—sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. But we have another sense that is equally as real as the other five. Often referred to as our sixth sense, psychic ability, or our intuition, this is the gut feeling or hunch you have that you cannot logically explain. Everyone is psychic to some degree or another, but not everyone is a medium.

A medium is a psychic who has fine-tuned his or her extrasensory perception and can interface with the spirits in other dimensions. They are able to feel and/or hear thoughts, voices, or mental impressions from the spirit world. A medium is able to become completely receptive to the higher frequency or energies on which spirit people vibrate.

Mediumship is much more involved than psychicism because a medium is opening him/herself to a discarnate energy. Mediumship itself can be broken down into two distinct categories. The first and most common type is mental mediumship, which is how I work with my abilities. I communicate with spirits while fully conscious. As the word mental denotes, this form of mediumship utilizes the mind—the intuitive mind, not the rational or logical part. This type of mental mediumship falls into several distinct types which are described as:

Clairsentience (clear feeling): Able to perceive information by way of emphatic feelings and emotions from spirit

Clairvoyant (clear vision): Able to see with the mind’s eye objects, colors, symbols, people, spirits, or scenes (these pictures are not visible to the naked eye and usually flash into the medium’s mind)

Clairaudient (clear hearing): Able to perceive sounds or words from sources broadcasting from a spiritual realm

Clairempathy (clear emotion): Able to sense or "feel" within oneself the attitude or emotions of another person

Clairgustance (clear tasting): Able to discern the essence of a substance through taste from spirit

Clairscent (clear smelling): Able to smell a fragrance or odor coming from the spirit

Clairtangency (clear touching): Able to perceive information about an article or its owner or history by holding an object or by touching someone or something (this ability is commonly known as psychometry)

The second type of mediumship is physical mediumship and it differs from mental mediumship. In physical mediumship, the actual physical body is used to obtain information from spirit. In mental mediumship, only the mind of the medium is utilized. Channeling is a well-known form of physical mediumship. A trance medium (someone who goes into a trance state to relay messages from the other side) is another type of physical medium.

Certain individuals are more prone to mediumship than others. Usually they must develop natural psychic abilities and mediumship skills over a period of time.

Other Legends

The Headless Horseman

The Headless Horseman is a mythical figure who has appeared in folklore around the world since the Middle Ages.  The figure is traditionally depicted as a rider upon horseback who is missing his head.

Description

Depending on the legend, the Horseman is either carrying his head, or is missing his head altogether, and is searching for it. Examples include the dullahan from Ireland, who is a demonic fairy usually depicted riding a horse and carrying his head under his arm; the titular knight from the English tale Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," a short story written in 1820 by American Washington Irving, which has been adapted into several other works of literature and film including the 1949 Disney animated film The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and the 1999 Tim Burton film Sleepy Hollow.

In Irish folklore

The dullahan or dulachán ("dark man") is a headless, demonic fairy, usually riding a horse and carrying his head under his arm. He wields a whip made from a human corpse's spine. When the dullahan stops riding, a death occurs. The Callahan calls out a name, at which point the named person immediately dies. In another version, he is the headless driver of a black carriage, the Cóiste Bodhar. A similar figure, the gan ceann ("without a head"), can be frightened away by wearing a gold object or putting one in his path.

In Scottish folklore

The most prominent Scots tale of the headless horseman concerns a man named Ewen decapitated in a clan battle at Glen Cainnir on the Isle of Mull. The battle denied him any chance to be a chieftain, and both he and his horse are headless in accounts of his haunting of the area. Among the Highland Scottish diaspora in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, seeing the image or hearing the sound of a horse or headless rider is traditionally regarded as an omen of an imminent death within the family.

In German folklore

In Germany, headless-horseman stories come mostly from the Rhineland. Rather than using decapitation, the headless horsemen killed their victims simply by touching them. They were revenants who had to wander the earth until they had atoned for their sins, sometimes by doing a good deed for a stranger, but instead of showing their gratitude by shaking hands, the stranger and the horseman held a tree branch between them and the branch would wither and die rather than the stranger.[8] Irving travelled in Germany in 1821 and had become familiar with Dutch and German folklore. In particular the last of the "Legenden von Rübezahl" ('Legends of Rübezahl') from Johann Karl August Musäus's literary retellings of German folktales (Volksmärchen der Deutschen, 1783) is said to have inspired The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Red Ghost of Arizona

The legend began in 1883 when two men left their ranch house near Eagle Creek to check on their cattle. While they were out, one of the ranchers' wives heard their dogs loudly barking, followed by a loud scream. She rushed to the window and saw what she described as a "huge, reddish colored beast" ridden by a "devilish-looking creature", and proceeded to lock her front door and wait for the men to come back. When the two men returned, they found the other wife had been trampled to death. The men followed the footprints left by the creature the next day and found red hair in a bush. A few days later a group of prospectors reported something tearing through their campground; red hair was later found at the site. The creature was again spotted just a few days later, this time being described as 30 feet tall, and knocking over two wagons, with red hair again being found. The legend would quickly spread with various tales being told; one described the creature killing and eating a grizzly bear, while another said it disappeared into thin air when chased, but all the tales agreed that the skeleton of a man was on its back. A cowboy tried to lasso the beast, but was knocked to the ground and nearly killed by it, not before seeing the figure on the back was a skeleton. A few months later a group of five men shot at the beast, missing the camel but shooting the head of the skeleton off, finding some hair and skin still attached to it.

The legend remained popular until 1893 when farmer Mizoo Hastings found the creature eating in his yard and proceeded to shoot it, killing it in a single shot. It was then discovered that the beast was a camel, with leather straps on the side stuck so tight that it was scarred. It remains unknown why a dead man was attached to the back, but various tales have appeared to explain it over the years, some saying it was a prospector dying of thirst who tied himself to the back hoping it would bring him to some water, while others say it was a soldier learning to ride a camel when it suddenly bolted off. The verifiability of some parts of the legend remains questionable, as some records are missing or have been lost over time.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

During the Westward expansion of the United States, military forces were looking for ways to ease transportation in arid regions. Throughout the early 19th century various proposals were made for camels to be used as pack animals, with a proposal by then Secretary of War Jefferson Davis finally being approved in 1855 with a budget of $30,000 in an experiment that would later become known as the Camel Corps. The process of acquiring camels began around the Mediterranean and eventually, 70 were procured. The project was originally a success, but due to the American Civil War, it was largely abandoned, with many supporters like Jefferson Davis joining the Confederacy. The camels were sold off or abandoned, with some being seen for decades afterward.

This structure was built in 1870 as a private home. Years later, it was acquired by a dentist, Dr. William Claudius Puffenberger. Sometime around 1917, Puffenberger sold the house to Harriet Chapman, who, along with co-owners Charles Stimson & Francis R. Blanchard (both doctors), turned it into a hospital in 1918. Only a few months after the hospital opened, Dr. Blanchard stepped into an open elevator door and fell to his death down the shaft.

This renovated hospital has sat on this property since the late 1800’s. There have been countless deaths natural and otherwise on the property and in the building. The building now occupies 4 apartments. Reports of loud noises stemming from the basement all times of the day and night. Voices, objects moving, and electrical appliances malfunctioning. Reports of children living in the apartments talking to “imaginary friends”. All described the same man and all getting at least his last name correct, although some children did mispronounce the name. A doctor reportedly lost his life after falling down the elevator shaft in the hospital

 THE G.A.R. MUSEUM

The G.A.R. Hall was built approximately twenty years after the Civil War ended. Its purpose was for the war's former soldiers to reunite, reminisce, and meet on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it was not to last.

In 1956, the Civil War veterans had all passed, causing the hall to cease operations. The hall began switching hands, seeing life under different guises: a bowling alley, dance school, and hardware store. Then, in 2013, the G.A.R. Hall became the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall Museum which remains so today.

Visitors have related their experiences of coming across apparitions of Civil War soldiers. Not just soldiers, but also the spirits of former members of the Women's Relief Corps, which used the building as their meeting place years ago. Others say they have heard voices coming from nowhere and the feeling of being followed through the building.

The Late Fr. Guest: Floyd Wills, with a passion for the truth, Floyd has gratiously joined Jen and Joe on the 222 Paranormal Podcast to bring us the true tales of the legend ancient red-headed giants. His knowledge and insight on this topic leaves us with more questions than answers.

Nevada's Paiutes spoke of a race of statuesque red-headed cannibals who attacked and ate members of the surrounding tribes. Eventually, the Paiutes destroyed them in Lovelock Cave. In 1911, miners discovered the remains of giant red-headed mummies and thousands of artifacts. The artifacts were excavated and disbursed to several museums, but the mummies disappeared from public view. What happened to the giant mummies, and why were they hidden from the public? Floyd Wills's investigation into Lovelock Cave's mystery reveals compelling evidence that the red-haired giants' Paiute tales were true. Mr. Wills supports his belief with newspaper articles, Native American accounts of giants, eyewitness testimony, photographs of skeletal remains, and artifacts found in and around Lovelock Cave. Other strange historical topics covered include: the Nazca Mummies, the Flores Hobbits of Indonesia, the Biblical Giants or The Nephilim, the Elongated Skull People of Paracas Peru, the Ica Stones, and the Acambaro Dinosaur Figurines.

Live every Tuesday at 7 pm, where the ladies talk about all the topics paranormal. With topics such as the History of fairies, Stimson Hospital investigation, serial killers, haunted stories by states, Spirit Walkers. Their latest episode was about the history and hunts of West Branch Michigan. Chelsea and Donna have been blazing a haunted trail thew the cemetery of your mind since April 2020 and will continue to bring you interesting guests and topics for many haunted nights to come.

In 1938, ownership belonged to Dr. & Mrs. Stimson and Bernice Bowman and was now named Stimson Community Hospital. Dr. Stimson passed away in 1943 and the hospital closed for good in 1957.

Now the building is an apartment house with 4 units. Renters have reported strange noises coming from the basement, objects moving by themselves, household appliances malfunctioning and disembodied voices. Children spoke of an 'imaginary friend'  they would speak with; the odd thing is, all the children who admitted this to their parents all mentioned the same last name of this 'imaginary' man.

After approximately 40 years of being a hospital, there were naturally countless deaths. Do ghosts of past patients haunt the building or is it the spirit of Dr. Blanchard who fell to his death down the elevator? Or did the entity of early owner Dr. Puffenberger return to his former home and set up

This haunted lcoation is located at 101 W. Plains Street (corner of W. Plains and Main Street), Eaton Rapids.

We return to Ste. Sault Marie to the Michigan Paracon 2023 and meet up with The Ghost Contact Paranormal Team. With great tales of their paranormal adventures, we are entertained by ghost stories.

Sault Ste. Marie is the oldest city in Michigan, and among the oldest cities in the United States. Over the course of our history, the flags of several sovereign nations have flown over the Sault.

Over 2,000 years ago, Native Americans began to gather here for the wealth of fish and fur found along the rushing waters of the wide, turbulent river that linked the Great Lakes of Superior and Huron. Spring and Fall were important seasons for these original settlers, and they called the area “Bahweting,” or, “The Gathering Place.”

The area’s first full-time residents lived in lodges framed of wood poles, sheathed with bark or animal hides. The river below the rapids provided an abundance of fish for Native peoples, as well as several tribes from throughout the region, who migrated here during the peak fishing season. It continues to remain a world-class spot for sport fishing.

In the 1600’s, French missionaries and fur traders began to venture into this beautiful territory. The traders began calling the wild area Sault du Gastogne. In 1668, the legendary Jesuit missionary and explorer Fr. Jacques Marquette renamed this burgeoning European settlement Sault Ste. Marie, in honor of the Virgin Mary—the first “city” in the Great Lakes region.

Nestled in the downtown of Fort Wayne Indiana sits a quiet and reserved home, but this isn't any average placec this is a mansion...it is the The Bell Mansion. And yes the ghosts are real!

Join us as we talk with Lindsay and Ricky, two of the mansion's docents who have both worked and experienced some of the most frightening paranormal experiences. From ghostly children running in the upstairs bedrooms, to the devoted maid Maria who is still tending to the rooms she once cleaned and did we mention the hundreds of thousands of dead bodies that went through the doors? This beautiful example of architecure and marvel was a funeral home for nearly 90+ years! So to say there spirits is an understatement.

Same architect as the University of Saint Francis' Bass Mansion and The History Center both in Fort Wayne.  Robert served as a state senator, assistant U.S. Commissioner for Indiana, huge investor in natural gas, (the reason Fort Wayne & even Chicago got natural gas when they did) and was a prominent lawyer. Clara helped form the first classes at the Fort Wayne Art School and was the co-founder of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.  The couple was originally from the Muncie area but moved up here for business purposes. They were a very prominent couple during their years here in Fort Wayne. Not only did Clara leave her forever footsteps at the Art Museum his law firm is still going strong known as the Barrett-McNagny law firm serving the local area still today. They only had one child Bessie but unfortunately due to illness died at 11 months old. After Robert's death in 1901 the home was sold to William K. Noble who ran a lumber company that operated in 3 states. His family of 3 lived there for 22 years and sold the building for $50,000 to The Klaehn Funeral home. In 1935 the west side addition was added due to high demand. At this time funerals were no longer held in the residents home as they were done in the 1800s. Today there are over 14,000 square feet in this absolutely breathtaking mansion. No detail has gone unnoticed. It remained a funeral home for over 93 years. Until they left the building in 2018 and the Sturm's bought the building in 2020 to preserve its beauty. We want to preserve our precious history first and foremost. History is the reason why we are all here today!  We are SOOO PASSIONATE about preserving and sharing this place with the world! Everyday we are getting creative so we can keep this mansion in one piece (not 8 different apartments or even a parking lot). We hope you love this building half as much as we do! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns! We are very open minded and easy going people looking to preserve a giant piece of Fort Wayne's history!

Do you love spooky stories? Do you love haunted places? Then we have the show for you! As we begin our yearly trek to Upper Michigan we bring you some scary and entertaining legends and lore of haunted areas and places in and around upper Michigan. Strange ghost sightings, haunted cemetaries, inhabited buildings and even our own personal ghost encounters!

Haunted Locations in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan

Soo Brewing Company/Second Childhood & Adult Too– Under prior ownership as Superior Impressions, the team conducted several investigations on the premises.

The building is believed to be haunted by a former ship captain whose family originally had the structure built, and ran their retail operations after leaving the lakes. Activity includes disembodied footsteps from the upper floor and formerly, and a Christmas caroler doll which would be moved to different locations in the store after the building had been locked for the night.

The Antlers Restaurant– Formerly operated as a speakeasy and brothel, the building is believed to be haunted by both a lady of the night & possibly a waitress. Doors have been known to open on their own and office equipment to turn on and off by itself. On one investigation, a team member was pushed on a stairway in the kitchen by an unseen force.

Museum Ship Valley Camp– Although no known tragedy is associated with the ship itself, it does house artifacts from shipwrecks that resulted in the loss of life. On one occasion, a heavy coughing sound was heard in the old coal furnace area. When asked what the sound was, a voice was captured on a recording device stating “I am coughing”. Shadowy figures have also been reported on the ship’s deck at night.

Ramada Ojibway Plaza– Believed to be haunted by Beatrice, the wife of a former owner. Rooms occupying what had consisted of her former suite have purportedly had patrons find their suitcases unpacked and rooms made up, although housekeeping service had not entered. There are also reports of a tall man in dress clothes and top hat being spotted wandering through the lobby area.

The Satisfied Frog Pub– Reported activity includes nickels turning up on a formerly vacant bar and the spirit of a little girl who has been both seen and heard at the rear of the establishment. In a picture taken several years back, a gnarled, disembodied hand is seen gripping the shoulder of a young lady. No explanation has ever been reached as to where the “hand” came from.

Thanks for tuning in this week, remember we love our listeners! HAve a wonderful week and stay spooky!!

The Ghost Bride of Ravine Cemetery

Ravine Cemetery is located just outside of downtown Sylvania, Ohio and it is here, in this quiet neighborhood cemetery, that stories of a phantom bride have captivated the imaginations of many for over 50 years.

The story of the ghost bride entered northwest Ohio folklore in the 1970s when a cemetery caretaker shared his knowledge of the legend with a friend, who, in turn, shared it with a Toledo Blade newspaper reporter.

The legend involves the spirit of a woman who returns to the cemetery to visit the graves of her former husbands, three of them. It is said she will appear at dawn on the anniversary of either their death or their marriage, no one is sure which.

There are many, including me, who suspect this legend is based on an actual person but, so far, the identity of the ghost bride remains a mystery.

City Tavern (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

A bride and her bridesmaids were preparing for the wedding when one bridesmaid accidentally knocked over a candle, setting the curtains on fire. The fire spread throughout the tavern, taking the lives of the bride and her bridesmaids.  The ghost of the bride is active today, especially during wedding events at the tavern. Some wedding photographers have even reported seeing her apparition appearing next to the (living) bride when looking through the camera viewfinder. Although, no one has caught her on film.

Hotel Conneaut (Erie, Pennsylvania)

Elizabeth and her new husband stayed in Room 321 on their honeymoon. Their blissful vacation was interrupted by a raging fire in the hotel. The husband was able to get out alive, but Elizabeth was trapped in the room and died. The heartbroken bride still roams the third floor, looking for her husband and sobbing. Wearing a wedding dress, she leaves behind the smell of jasmine.

Curves (Onondaga Hill, New York)

A similar story appears in Onondaga Hill folklore. About 60 years ago, a young couple died in a car crash on a very snaky road just after their wedding. People claim to see the bride on Halloween. Her glowing figure floats down the road in a wedding gown, searching for her husband. Some say she carries a bright orange lantern. To read more about this legend, visit Weird New York.

Baker Mansion (Altoona, Pennsylvania)

Anna Baker, the daughter of the rich Elias Baker, fell in love with a local steelworker. Her father forbade her to marry him, because he was of lower class. She died alone. Much later, The Baker Mansion (in Altoona, PA) was made into a museum and a wedding dress was put on display in a glass case in Anna’s bedroom. When there is a full moon, the dress violently shakes, sometimes to the point of almost breaking the glass. Myth says she is so mad she never got to wear a wedding dress, and therefore shakes it in anger. Some people often report seeing it dance by itself (with the shoes tapping along).

Joining the show today is paranormal investigator, Allen Cornelison. His extensive research into the paranormal lead him to the journey of al lifetime. He shares his amazing true life encounters with ghosts who he knows and some he wants to forget. Allen finds himself too deep in the case of a lifetime. Allen's arrogance in understanding all that need to be known about supernatural activity challenges his 30 plus years of experience while investigating the Stagecoach Inn. Allenhas blindedhimself to reality, lacking a true understanding of what he thought he knew about The Dark World of paranormal phenomenon. Allen's seven year journey investigating the Stagecoach Inn can onlybe decribedas a slow-moving, methodical, evil dark river of expected and ever changing currents and undertows in it's black unforgiving abyss. As Allen sometimes refers to the inn, that place, is methodically anddiabolicall designed by whatever darkness lurks within this old historicallandmark's wall in Ida County, Iowa. Allen's investigation of this historical landmark is leaves him unaware of his spiritual and mental drowning in a dark river that he has ventured Inn Too Deep with little hope of swimming out.

I found that I could feel the energy of an investigation without setting foot into the location. Upon reading Inn Conflict, I felt I was walking with Allen as he traversed the Stage Coach Inn, a building embedded in his soul forever. I have 37 years of experience in the paranormal, doing investigations and professionally reading as a medium. It is a gift I have had since I can remember. My education is a Ph.D. in Health Sciences after I diverged from clinical psych and decided to teach rather than diagnose psychiatric patients. My lifetime has been spent in these situations; the excitement leads to the investigations, the heart-racing adrenaline of standing somewhere in the dark, not alone, and the realization that something has attached and followed you home. It is a life of dedication to finding out the who, what, where, and when of unknown energies, and Allen encompasses all these feelings in Inn Conflict...

This espisode we are joined the the lovely and talented author, paranormal investigator, founder of Tri-County Ghost Hunters Society Nicole Beauchamp. Growing up in Bay City, Michigan Nicole's formitive years were spent with a grand fondness for the paranormal. From an Early age, she began to dabble in scary and spooky endevors. As she grew up she started her own tour and investigation group.

With years of experience under her belt, she used her talents to begin writing her now famous book, Haunted Bay City, Michigan which later lead to her releases of Haunted Detroit. And soon coming another haunted book, Haunted Bars and Inns of Michigan.

Detroit, the largest city in the state of Michigan, was settled in 1701 by French colonists. It is the first European settlement above tidewater in North America. Founded as a New France fur trading post, it began to expand during the 19th century with American settlements around the Great Lakes. By 1920, based on the booming auto industry and immigration, it became a world-class industrial powerhouse and the fourth-largest city in the United States. It held that standing through the mid-20th century.

The first Europeans to settle in Detroit were French country traders and colonists from the New Orleans (the La Louisiane) colony. They were joined by traders from Montreal and Quebec; all had to contend with the powerful Five Nations of the League of the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee), who took control of the southern shores of Lakes Erie and Huron through the Beaver Wars of the 17th century. Also present and powerful, but further to the north, were the Council of Three Fires (Anishinaabe). (in Anishinaabe: Niswi-mishkodewinan, also known as the People of the Three Fires; the Three Fires Confederacy; or the United Nations of Chippewa, Ottawa, and Potawatomi Indians) is a long-standing Anishinaabe alliance of the Ojibwe (or Chippewa), Odawa (or Ottawa), and Potawatomi North American Native tribes. The Three Fires Confederacy (Anishinaabe) was often supported by the French, while the so-called League of Iroquois, or Five Nations (Haudenosaunee) was supported by the English and Dutch.

Listen in as we talk to Nicole about her ventures into the paranormal.

Cryptozoologist Shetan Noir, author and owner/publisher of Squatch GQ Magazine stops by to give us some new updates on the lore and legends of The Great Lakes monsters. She researches strange and unusal reports and sightings in and around the Great Lakes Regions in North America, document many of these in her books.

The Water Monster of Lake Erie

Lake Erie is home to many different monster tales, all of which have been told by multiple people. One of the most famous water monster sightings has happened in Lake Erie in the south bay area. Bessie, who is also called South Bay Bessie because of the location of the sightings, has been seen multiple times since the 1800’s. It is said that she is covered in gray scales, has a large head, and is around 30 to 40 feet long. Once, in 1992, a supposed attack from Bessie left three people dead with one survivor. He had quite the story to tell, I’m sure. He has even mentioned that Bessie’s head was the size of an average car. Could you imagine seeing that up close and personal?

The Kingstie Monster of Lake Ontario

Lake Ontario spans between the United States and Canada, and this particular tale happened in Canada in 2004, though it dates back to the 1930’s. The Kingstie Monster was seen by two fishermen who were enjoying their day just off the coast of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. What they saw was a hoax created by some people in 1934 by using empty bottles for a flotation device and attaching a head that resembled a dragon. Why they did, it is hard to say, but the fishermen were given quite a scare and decided to name it “Kingstie” after their location. This story is a bit more relaxed than some of the others, but even the hoax put quite a scare into many people’s lives, especially if they aren’t expecting to see a “sea monster” under their boat while fishing.

The Siren of Lake Erie

Lake Erie, as I’ve mentioned before, is home to several monster stories. This one is particularly chilling since it revolved around a demonic siren. This legend centers around a siren called the Storm Hag. She lives at the bottom of Lake Erie, and she is often blamed for the disappearance of many ships in the area. She is said to have yellow eyes, green teeth and skin, and long, sharp, and poisonous fingernails. Her teeth are also extremely sharp, and her eyes are said to have a demonic glow to them. Her voice is said to carry over the lake just before a storm comes, and when the storm arrives, she attacks the ship, kills the sailors, and brings this ship back to her home in the bottom of the lake. This is one of the most mysterious stories surrounding the Great Lakes. It’s pretty creepy, right?

THE GREAT LYNX WATER MONSTER OF LAKE HURON
The Ojibway legends say there is a giant reptile, or serpent creature with large horns that rules the waters of Lake Huron. They call it "Mishebeshu" which means 'great lynx' and it dwells in an underwater den at the mouth of the Serpent River. There are many tales of this creature and if you visit the area, you wouldn't have any problem finding some old-timers to tell you about their - and others - experiences with this creature
