On today’s episode I talk about a recent article from the Associated Press about a pentagon statement. Also, I cover the Missing 411 Phenomenon from David Paulides.

The copy of the news Story

AP: A Pentagon study released Friday that examined reported sightings of UFOs over nearly the last century found no evidence of aliens or extraterrestrial intelligence, a conclusion consistent with past U.S. government efforts to assess the accuracy of claims that have captivated public attention for decades.

The study from the Defense Department’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office analyzed U.S. government investigations since 1945 of reported sightings of unidentified anomalous phenomena, more popularly known as UFOs. It found no evidence that any of them were signs of alien life, or that the U.S. government and private companies had reverse-engineered extraterrestrial technology and were hiding it.

“All investigative efforts, at all levels of classification, concluded that most sightings were ordinary objects and phenomena and the result of misidentification,” said the report, which was mandated by Congress. Another volume of the report focused on more recent research will be out later.

U.S. officials have endeavored to find answers to legions of reported UFO sightings over the years, but so far have not identified any actual evidence of extraterrestrial life. A 2021 government report that reviewed 144 sightings of aircraft or other devices apparently flying at mysterious speeds or trajectories found no extraterrestrial links, but drew few other conclusions and called for better data collection.

The issue received fresh attention last summer when a retired Air Force intelligence officer testified to Congress that the U.S. was concealing a longstanding program that retrieves and reverse engineers unidentified flying objects. The Pentagon has denied his claims, and said in late 2022 that a new Pentagon office set up to track reports of unidentified flying objects — the same one that released Friday’s report — had received “several hundreds” of new reports, but had found no evidence so far of alien life.

The authors of Friday’s report said the purpose was to apply a rigorous scientific analysis to a subject that has long captured the American public’s imagination.

“AARO recognizes that many people sincerely hold versions of these beliefs which are based on their perception of past experiences, the experiences of others whom they trust, or media and online outlets they believe to be sources of credible and verifiable information,” the report said.

“The proliferation of television programs, books, movies, and the vast amount of internet and social media content centered on UAP-related topics most likely has influenced the public conversation on this topic, and reinforced these beliefs within some sections of the population,” it added.

The Missing 411 Phenomenon from David Paulides

Following his work on Bigfoot, Paulides' next project was Missing 411, a series of self-published books and two documentary films, documenting unsolved cases of people who have gone missing in national parks and elsewhere.

According to Paulides, his work on this subject began when he was doing research in a national park and an off-duty park ranger found him and expressed concern about the questionable nature of some of the missing person cases which occurred in the parks. The ranger knew Paulides' background and asked him to research the issue. Paulides obliged, and asserts that he uncovered multiple lines of evidence suggesting negligence on the part of the park service in failing to locate the missing people. He broadened his investigation to include missing people from across the world, and this led to his belief that he has uncovered a mysterious series of worldwide disappearances, which he said defied logical and conventional explanations.

As of August 2021, Paulides has written at least ten books on this topic. According to A Sobering Coincidence, he does not yet have a theory on what is causing the disappearances, although he indicates that the "field of suspects is narrowing." Paulides advised his readers to go outside of their normal comfort zone to determine who (or what) is the culprit

Bio

Susy Bastille is an independent researcher of the elusive and often maligned pukwudgie. Born and raised in CT, her focus has been in the rich history of strange and spooky occurrences in New England.

Long before Europeans ever stepped foot in the New World, the legends of pukwudgies were already quite robust. Pukwudgies, also known as bagwajinini, were said to live in the wilderness throughout North America. Native Americans believed that pukwudgies were creatures that had once lived in harmony with humans but had turned against them. They featured in the folklore of diverse tribes, from the Wampanoag tribe of Massachusetts and Southern New England to the Algonquian tribe of the Great Lakes region. And according to various legends, it was best to leave the creatures alone.

Pukwudgie translates to “person of the wilderness.” They were said to be small creatures, ranging from knee-height to about three feet tall, with human-like features, yet sporting larger ears, noses, and fingers. Their skin has been described as grey and smooth, and they have often been compared to trolls and goblins. The small creatures also have a variety of tricks up their sleeves to taunt or harm humans.

Christopher Tillman is an explorer, writer, and documentarian with a passion for all things strange and unusual. He has been investigating claims of paranormal activity since 1993, cataloging over 1500 legends in the State of Ohio. His first documentary, dealing with the haunted history of Ohio’s first serial killer, premiered on Toledo’s PBS affiliate in 2020. When he’s not traveling the country in search of the paranormal, he resides in Toledo, Ohio.

Ohio’s First Serial Killer

Haunted Toledo’s two-year investigation covering Ohio’s first serial killer, Return Ward, and the haunting phenomena that surround’s the location of his last killing.

In February of 1857, Ward brutally murdered his wife, Olive. In order to cover up his crime, he dismembered her body and burned it in his stove. He was finally apprehended, charged, and executed for her death.

Now, over 150 years later, there are those who believe his murderous spirit, and that of his poor wife, still wander downtown Sylvania, Ohio.

The Collingwood Art Theater.

The labyrinth-like basement of the Collingwood Arts Center runs beneath the entire building complex, but only part of it is known as the Gerber basement.

The Gerber basement sits beneath the Gerber House, the oldest part of the Arts Center. It is in this basement that many have encountered the most notorious phantom that is said to haunt Collingwood.

This spirit is generally witnessed as being a dark, shadowy figure that floats along the ground, and often chases after those who are unfortunate enough to cross its path.

Many ascribe a negative or malevolent aspect to this entity, but the truth behind who, or what, this spirit is has yet to be determined.

Club Bijou

Haunted Toledo’s Christopher Tillman was invited to the club in May of 1999 to document the claims of employees who believed something otherworldly was lurking throughout the building. Many stories were told, hundreds of photos taken, and a 28-minute video tour of the building was conducted.

Fast-forward 18 years… A former employee of the club was contacted and asked to help us tell the story of Club Bijou’s haunted history.

The building no longer exists. All that remains are some photos, video, many memories, and the extraordinary stories of its former employees!

Gibbs Bridge

On the outskirts of Sylvania, Ohio, on the western edge of Lucas County, sits one of the most popular haunted bridges in the state.

Almost every ghosthunter in northern Ohio has visited this bridge at least once, many of them leaving with what they believe is evidence of unexplained paranormal phenomena.

This bridge holds a variety of paranormal claims and tales of tragedy, and this is what makes Gibbs Bridge such a popular destination for paranormal investigators.

Vince Kelien has been exploring abandoned and haunted places for over 10 years. He was introduced to the paranormal at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium in 2010, where a ghostly encounter on his very first day made him realize that there’s more to this world than we can see. In the years since, he’s had the privilege of helping to repair and maintain the historic structure, give tours, and manage the location’s social media channels. He started the Waverly Hills Tiktok account and gained more than 100 thousand followers before he left.

These days, he travels the country to discover brand-new abandoned locations and revisit old favorites. Over the past year, he’s been to Saratoga County Homestead, Norwich State Hospital, Pennhurst Asylum, as well as undisclosed locations up and down the eastern seaboard.

He’s collaborated with Haunted Nights, Kalani Ghost Hunter, The Ghoul Guide, and many others. You can follow his adventures on his YouTube channel, Urban Investigator, and social media channels.

Urban exploration (often shortened as UE, urbex, and sometimes known as roof and tunnel hacking) is the exploration of manmade structures, usually abandoned ruins or hidden components of the manmade environment. Photography and historical interest/documentation are heavily featured in the hobby, sometimes involving trespassing onto private property. Urban exploration is also called draining (a specific form of urban exploration where storm drains or sewers are explored), urban spelunking, urban rock climbing, urban caving, building hacking, or mousing.

The activity presents various risks, including physical danger and, if done illegally and/or without permission, the possibility of arrest and punishment.

Most cities have main streets Like other cities Fort Wayne, has a main street. But unlike other cities, their main street is haunted.  Main Street is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman in white. She has a flowing white gown and appears to just walk down the street. That alone is enough to cause concern; however, the woman in white on Main Street continues walking until she reaches the St. Mary’s Bridge. Once there she horrifies witnesses who watch her climb over the bridge to jump into the water beneath the bridge. People have been so convinced the woman is real that they contact the police but nobody is ever found.

The Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne dates back to 1928 and is considered a landmark in the city. When open, the building has been home to plays and other entertainment productions.

People have seen a grey apparition roaming the halls on numerous occasions.

Some people believe a long-deceased director is an apparition. Along with that apparition some people see and hear what they can only assume is an older woman. Others have seen actors on stage and backstage. Other strange things in the theatre include odd smells, random cold spots, and lights spontaneously turning off and on.

John H. Bass was an incredibly wealthy man when he was alive. He had a mansion built for himself that even included an artificial lake not far from the house.

The mansion stood abandoned for a number of years before a local university decided to renovate the building and use it as a library.

There are stories that John H. Bass remains a resident of his mansion. These stories claim if you are in the library John H. Bass will help you find the book you desire.

Lindenwood Cemetery. Lindenwood Cemetery was originally founded back in 1859.

In the more than 175 acres the cemetery covers there is said to be somewhere in the neighborhood of seventy thousand gravesites. The overall style of the cemetery is Victorian in nature.

Nancy Thames, a former Department of Defense employee and a lifelong contactee of extraterrestrial beings, has emerged as a significant voice in the realm of alien disclosure and spiritual awakening. Her journey, marked by personal struggles, transformed profoundly through her continuous extraterrestrial encounters. These experiences, initially suppressed, were eventually embraced as Nancy began to understand their purpose in her life and for humanity. She has come to the decisive conclusion: it is Time for Disclosure.

Her dedication to this cosmic narrative propelled her to create timefordisclosure.com, a platform advocating for open dialogue about extraterrestrial interactions and the greater implications for humanity. Here, she shares her personal encounters, insights gleaned from beings across dimensions, and her perspective on what these interactions mean for human evolution.

Nancy's work underscores a collective call to awakening. She stresses that experiences often labeled as "abductions" are, in her understanding, enlightened contacts, part of a broader, benevolent interaction with extraterrestrial entities aiming to usher humanity into a new era of cosmic participation. This mission, conveyed through her writing and community engagement, is driven by a philosophy of unity, spiritual evolution, and the pursuit of truth, extending an invitation to all of humanity to acknowledge and embrace our place within the larger galactic framework.

Does human teleportation really exist? Can we travel instantly to a different location? On today's episode, we will talk about that concept.

A transporter is a fictional teleportation machine used in the Star Trek science fiction franchise. Transporters allow for teleportation by converting a person or object into an energy pattern (a process called "dematerialization"), then sending ("beaming") it to a target location or else returning it to the transporter, where it is reconverted into matter ("rematerialization"). Since its introduction in Star Trek: The Original Series in 1966, the name and similar concepts have made their way to other science fiction scenarios,

Here are some of the events we talk about.

Skier Disappears in New York, Shows Up in Sacramento Airport a Week Later in Same Clothes

A 49-year-old skier “Danny” Filippidis from Toronto was out shredding Whiteface Mountain, near Wilmington, N.Y on February 7 when he vanished into thin air. He told a friend he was going for one more run on the mountain alone near the end of the day. He never returned.

Search and Rescue, ski patrol, helicopters and up to 140 people, spent six days searching for   “Danny” Filippidis in the Whiteface vicinity.  The local hypothesis was that he’d hit a tree or fallen into a deep tree well and perhaps suffocated. But Filippidis was on a much stranger trip.

Fast forward a week and Filippidis had located a cell phone at the Sacramento Airport where he finally called his wife, who told him to dial authorities immediately. Police found Filippidis wearing the exact clothing he was wearing when he disappeared on that pow day at Whiteface on the other side of the country, he was even wearing his helmet and goggles. ‘Danny’ appeared extremely confused to law enforcement, unable to tell them where he’d been other than recalling a “big rig-style truck,” and “sleeping a lot.” He had no idea what day it was, only remembering being dropped off, “near a McDonald’s.” He had a credit card and $1,000 in cash.

“He was very nonchalant, and kind of out of it,” said Sgt. Shaun Hampton with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. “Our officers were adamant to take him to the hospital to have him treated.” Hampton also added that officers didn’t think he was under the influence or taken by force.

The Canadian skier and firefighter did have a fresh haircut.

There were no accounts of him getting on a plain, bus, or renting a car.

A professor In England in 1970 walked out to his car sat down in the car and felt dizzy. The next thing he knows is he is 1000 miles away stumbling around. His car was still parked back at the University.

In Argentina a man was driving, and his car started acting up. So, he stopped and when he got out he was hit by some unseen force and knocked to the ground. When he stood up everything around him was different. Turns out he was 1500 miles away, confused and disoriented. When he told someone, officials went to his car and it was sitting along the road still running.

Pilot in electric fog. The story of Brues Gerner.

Flying from Andorse Island to Paumbeach. About 10 min into the flight he flew into a bad storm. Trying to avoid it he turned and when he did he found himself in a tunnel. He felt as if he was being pulled forward for 10 seconds. He comes out and realized he was above Miami. Miami air command said he was over Miami beach with means he travelled 100 miles in 3 min. that’s 1918mph. top speed of his one engine plane was 200mph.

Time travel, does it exist? Can we travel through time? Scientists say yes we can on a sub-atomic level. If you travel at light speed. Time travel and time slips are some of my favorite topics. This week I will tell you about a few stories I have come across.

People Claimed to Be Real-Life Time Travelers

1) Charlotte Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain

In 1911, Charlotte Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain, who met just prior to working together at the all-female St. Hugh’s College in Oxford and shared an interest in spiritualism, released a book that caused a sensation. An Adventure detailed an experience they’d shared while visiting the Palace of Versailles in 1901. While wandering the extensive gardens around the Petit Trianon, they suddenly began encountering people dressed in 18th-century outfits, including a women who strongly resembled Marie Antoinette. Had they encountered ghosts—or slipped back in time somehow? Though they went with the latter for their book, which purported to “prove” their experience by researching and corroborating what they’d seen with historical records, skeptics tended to believe a third option: That the authors of the book (written under pseudonyms; their true identities were revealed after their deaths) had made the whole thing up. Still, their reputations as respected academics did make other people wonder if maybe they had witnessed something way out of the ordinary.

2) John Titor

This story has its origins with oddball late-night radio host Art Bell—which should be an immediate red flag—and expanded to include internet message boards circa the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was never clear if the man who made contact with Bell (via fax) was the same as the man who later took to the internet and built a cult following. You can read more about Titor’s story in the feature below, but the basics are: Titor first popped up in 1998, claiming he was from a parallel timeline where time travel was invented in 2034 by General Electric. In 2001, he explained his mission was to collect a vintage computer from 1975, needing it to debug computers back in 2036. His “predictions” about the future mostly failed to come true (like the second American Civil War, circa 2013), and sleuthing around the Titor phenomenon turned up at least one person (not a time traveler) who seemed the likely source of the hoax. But no amount of debunking can take away the weird and amazing details of this story; it’s one of the earliest instances of internet folklore, and still one of its most fascinating.

4) Andrew Carlssin

It’s true that “Andrew Carlssin” may not have actually ever existed, but he dwelled in the imaginations of real people for a brief moment after an article from the (reliably amusing) Weekly World News accidentally went mainstream. Snopes.com has a reprint of the original article, which read in part:

Federal investigators have arrested an enigmatic Wall Street wiz on insider-trading charges — and incredibly, he claims to be a time-traveler from the year 2256!

Sources at the Security and Exchange Commission confirm that 44-year-old Andrew Carlssin offered the bizarre explanation for his uncanny success in the stock market after being led off in handcuffs on January 28.

Though actual SEC representatives were quick to point out the entire story was, ah, complete and total balderdash, it caught on because it made a certain kind of freaky sense. See, John Titor had a high-concept reason for traveling back in time to get that vintage computer... but Carlssin? He was just capitalizing on what he knew about the future to play the stock market and get filthy rich, just like Back to the Future’s Biff Tannen and his sports scores. Snopes notes that the Weekly World News published a follow-up a month later, reporting that Carlssin had jumped bail, never to be seen again, either in the paper or in reality.

5) “Noah”

Late last year, several British tabloids gleefully reported on “Noah,” a man who claimed to be from the future, having arrived in our time using technology that was invented in 2003 but not declassified until 2028. A YouTube video on the Paranoid Elite channel—where you can view a variety of other “time-traveler” videos (though Noah’s is the most popular by far) as well as exposés on mermaids, aliens, and other mysteries of the unknown—was Noah’s chosen platform. His revelations were mostly pretty boring (the return of a better Google Glass! Self-driving cars are totally a thing! Trump will be re-elected!), but there’s something decidedly unsettling about his blurred-out performance

You think of someone and they call you or you run into them at a store.

If this happens you should ask yourself, “Why is this person coming into my life at this time?” “What does this mean?”

What if you think of something and you see an ad for it?

We are all connected. Is there a cosmic connection that passes thoughts or feelings to each other?

The dictionary defines Coincidences as, “the occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection”

But is there a such thing as Coincidences? Some paranormal researchers don’t believe there is.

It is difficult to find a natural explanation too why a surprising coincidence occurs. In attempting to find one, we might be inclined to accept a paranormal explanation Most researchers believe that circumstances are predetermined and will happen regardless of our input. There is also a belief that a higher power is controlling the outcome and will make things seem to match up in history.

Different circumstances can be attributed to your guardian angels. Is it a circumstance that you decided last minute to take a different route to work only to find out that there was an accident at a corner you would have gone through if you hadn't gone the other way? Or you feel like you forgot something only to run into someone who reminds you of that thing you forgot.

The timeless killing.

Henry Jigland broke up with his girlfriend who killed herself, Her brother looked for him and when he found him he shot Jigland. Thinking he finished him he took his own life.  But he didn’t know that he missed Jigland and the bullet got lodged in a tree. Years later Jigland wanted to cut the tree down. But he used explosives and when he detonated the tree the explosion threw the bullet into him killing him instantly.

The Jim twins

Twins James Jim Lewis and Jams Jim Springer we separated just after birth and adopted out to separate families. They grew up with no contact with each other and had no knowledge of each other. When they finally did meet at the age of 39 they found out they were living identical lives. They both had dogs named Toy. They excelled in math and woodworking. They both married a woman named Linda and divorced. They both married again to a woman named Betty. They both had sons and they named them James Allen.  They both smoked the same cigarettes, Drove Chevy, and vacationed at the same Florida Beach.

The falling babies of Detroit.

1937 A street sweeper Joseph Figloc from Detroit was cleaning the street when a baby fell out of the fourth floor of a building onto him. He saved the baby's life when it fell on him. A year later he was sweeping in an alleyway when a baby fell from another building onto Figloc saving the baby’s life.

Eger Alien Poe wrote a fictional book called “The Narrative of Arther Gorden Pin of Nantucket. The book is told of 4 shipwreck survivors who after time in the ocean resorted to canalization. They killed and Ater a boy named Richerd Parker. Several years after he published the book a yack named The Minuet sank and there were 4 survivors who were alone in a lifeboat. The 3 older survivors killed and ate the cabin boy named Richerd Parker.

The 27 Club

This started with the death of Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones. Then Jim Morison, Janis Joplin, and Jimmy Hendrix. As time went on, Kerk Cobane passed at the age of 27. Recently Amy Winehouse passed at the age of 27. She stated in an interview that she was concerned about that age.  Overall, the 27-club claimed over 60 artists, musicians and actors.

The Unsinkable Violet Jessop.

Violet Jessop was a maritime nurse who was on the RMS Olympic when the ship collided with the warship HMS Hauk in 1911. The Olympic almost sank but made it to port safely. Jessop was reassigned to The Titanic for its maiden voyage. When it sank in 1912 she survived and was reassigned to the HMHS Britannic which sank in 1916 from an explosion when the ship hit a mine. Where she survived.

The Titan and The Titanic.

In 1898 Morgan Robertson wrote the novel The Wreck of The Titan. The plot revolves around the HMS Titan a British luxury liner that hit an iceberg and sank killing almost everyone on board. In 1912 the Titanic sank in the exact same fashion. Both ships were named unsinkable, both hit an iceberg in the month of April, 400 miles of the coast of New Finland, Both were proximity 800 feet long, and both resulted in the deaths of 2000 people. Both ships didn’t have the correct number of lifeboats and life jackets.

JFK and Abraham Lincon.

Both were elected to congress 100 years apart in 1846 and 1946. The both became presidents 14 years later in 1860 and 1960. Both were guided down by fatal wands to the head. Both were suspended by men named Johnson, who were born 100 years apart. They both died on Friday. Their names contained 7 letters; both of their assassins were killed before trial. Both had 4 children and both lost a son during their time in the Whitehouse. Lincon’s secretary named Kenidy warned him not to go to the theater on the night he was assassinated while Kenidy’s secretary named Lincon, warned him not to go to Dallis. Both vice presidents who assumed office were named Johnson. Both were born 100 years apart. 1808 and 1908

Two events are said to constitute a coincidence if they occur in such a way as to strike an observer as being highly related as regards their structure or their “meaning”; to dismiss such an occurrence as a “mere coincidence” is to imply the belief that each event arose as a result of quite independent causal chains (that is, they are “acausal”) and that no further “meaning” or significance is to be found in this fortuitous concurrence; sometimes, however, a sense of impressiveness is engendered by the belief that the concurrence is so very unlikely as to have been the result of “pure chance” that there must be some cause or reason for the concurrence, thus investing the coincidence with a sense of meaningfulness. In West Virginian folklore, the Mothman is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register, dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird ... Creature ... Something".  The national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the United States. The source of the legend is believed to have originated from sightings of out-of-migration sandhill cranes or herons.

The creature was introduced to a wider audience by Gray Barker in 1970, and was later popularized by John Keel in his 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies, claiming that there were paranormal events related to the sightings, and a connection to the collapse of the Silver Bridge. The book was later adapted into a 2002 film, starring Richard Gere.[

History

On November 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant—Roger and Linda Scarberry, and Steve and Mary Mallette—told police they had seen a large black creature whose eyes "glowed red", standing at the side of the road near "the TNT area", the site of a former World War II munitions plant. Linda Scarberry described it as a "slender, muscular man" about seven feet tall with white wings, and said that she was unable to discern its face due to the hypnotic effect of its eyes. Distressed, the witnesses drove away at high speed, and said that the creature flew after their car, making a screeching sound. It pursued them as far as Point Pleasant city limits.

During the next few days, other people reported similar sightings, after local newspapers reported it. Two volunteer firemen who saw it said it was a "large bird with red eyes". Mason County Sheriff George Johnson commented that he believed the sightings were due to an unusually large heron he termed a "shitepoke". Contractor Newell Partridge told Johnson that when he aimed a flashlight at a creature in a nearby field, its eyes glowed "like bicycle reflectors". Additionally, he blamed buzzing noises from his television set and the disappearance of his German Shepherd dog on the creature. Wildlife biologist Robert L. Smith at West Virginia University told reporters that descriptions and sightings all fit the sandhill crane, a large American crane almost as tall as a man with a seven-foot wingspan featuring circles of reddish coloring around the eyes. The bird may have wandered out of its migration route, and therefore was unrecognized at first because it was not native to this region.

Due to the popularity of the Batman TV series at the time, the fictional superhero Batman and his rogues gallery were prominently featured in the public eye. While the villain Killer Moth did not appear in the show, the comic book influence of both him and Batman is believed by some to have influenced the coinage of the name "Mothman" in the local newspapers.

Following the December 15, 1967 collapse of the Silver Bridge and the death of 46 people, the incident gave rise to the legend and connected the Mothman sightings to the bridge collapse.

According to Georgian newspaper Svobodnaya Gruziya, Russian UFOlogists claim that Mothman sightings in Moscow foreshadowed the 1999 Russian apartment bombings.

The Mothman Prophecies (2002) is a major motion picture, loosely based on the 1975 book of the same name by John Keel.

In 2016, WCHS-TV published a photo purported to be of Mothman taken by an anonymous man while driving on Route 2 in Mason County. Science writer Sharon A. Hill proposed that the photo showed "a bird, perhaps an owl, carrying a frog or snake away" and wrote that "there is zero reason to suspect it is the Mothman as described in legend. There are too many far more reasonable explanations."

Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster (Scottish Gaelic: Uilebheist Loch Nis), affectionately known as Nessie, is a creature in Scottish folklore that is said to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is often described as large, long-necked, and with one or more humps protruding from the water. Popular interest and belief in the creature have varied since it was brought to worldwide attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal with a number of disputed photographs and sonar readings.

The scientific community explains alleged sightings of the Loch Ness Monster as hoaxes, wishful thinking, and the misidentification of mundane objects. The pseudoscience and subculture of cryptozoology have placed particular emphasis on the creature.

Origin of the name

In August 1933, the Courier published the account of George Spicer's alleged sighting. Public interest skyrocketed, with countless letters being sent in detailing different sightings describing a "monster fish," "sea serpent," or "dragon," with the final name ultimately settling on "Loch Ness monster."Since the 1940s, the creature has been affectionately called Nessie (Scottish Gaelic: Niseag.

Energy vampires

Energy vampires are people who sap your emotional energy, either intentionally or unconsciously. They could be friends, family members, partners, colleagues, or neighbors, who feed on your care and attention and can leave you feeling stressed, drained, exhausted, and overwhelmed.

Relationships with energy vampires are often toxic. They can cause you to feel physically and emotionally drained, particularly if you’re an empath and highly attuned to the emotions of the people around you.1

What Are the Different Types of Energy Vampires?

The victim: Some people enjoy playing the victim card and are always ready with a new sob story about a perceived slight. They are innocent but the whole world is always against them. They tend to complain often and loudly about their problems.

The criticizer: Some people spend a lot of time and energy criticizing other people, things, and situations. Nothing is ever good enough for them and they can find fault with just about anything.

The dramatizer: Some people create and attract a lot of drama. They always seem to be in the midst of a major catastrophe and often need your help and support.

The manipulator: Some people are able to manipulate just about any situation to their advantage. They rarely say what they mean and usually have a hidden agenda.

The negative thinker: Some people always see the glass as half empty and have a very negative attitude toward life. They can always be counted on to point out the downside or potential risks, without leaving any room for hope or excitement.

The blamer: Some people are quick to place blame on others. They’re never at fault but always willing to hand out heaps of shame and guilt.

Energy vampires are extremely self-centered and always want to be the center of attention. They dominate the conversation and ensure the focus is always on themselves. If someone else brings up a different topic, they find a way to one-up them and bring the attention back to themselves.

What is Horror Fiction?

Horror is a genre of literature, film, and television that is meant to scare, startle, shock, and even repulse audiences. The key focus of a horror novel, horror film, or horror TV show is to elicit a sense of dread in the reader through frightening images, themes, and situations. In the horror genre, story and characters are just as important as mood and atmosphere. A horror story often shocks and provokes with its exploration of the unknown.

The horror genre in literature dates back to Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, where horror stories explored themes related to death, demons, evil spirits, and the afterlife. Examples include the ancient Greek tragedy Hippolytus by Euripides, a gruesome story about how jealousy and a lack of empathy can lead to tragedy; and Parallel Lives by Plutarch, a series of biographies highlighting the many moral failures of man.

The gothic novel, a genre of horror that focuses specifically on death, originated in the eighteenth century and is exemplified by the author Edgar Allan Poe. Horror literature in the nineteenth century and twentieth centuries often focused on tales involving occult ideas, like Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein (1818) or Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897).

Modern horror novels have expanded the genre to include new elements and contemporary themes, like serial killers and slasher stories—Stephen King’s The Shining (1977) is a perfect example—as well as genre mashups that combine horror with historical fantasy, and modern interpretations of fantastical creatures, like ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and witches.

What is a Medium?

Whether one refers to him- or herself as a psychic medium, spiritual medium, intuitive medium or any other similar title, it's all essentially the same thing—the emphasis being on talking to spirits in the afterlife. While I refer to myself as a "psychic medium," there is a big difference between a psychic and a medium.

A psychic isn't necessarily a medium, but a medium is a psychic. This is an important distinction and a good place to start, because I meet clients all the time who misunderstand the difference and confuse the two.

Psychics tune into the energy of people or objects by feeling or sensing elements of their past, present and future. Simply put, psychics rely on their basic sense of intuition and psychic ability to gather information for the person being read.

Mediums take it a step further. A medium uses his or her psychic or intuitive abilities to see the past, present and future events of a person by tuning into the spirit energy surrounding that person. This means mediums rely on the presence of non-physical energy outside of themselves for the information relevant to the person being read.

Similarly, all medical students are required to take the basic entry-level medical courses, such as physics, biology and chemistry. Premed students are trained in the basics before moving on to higher-level courses and choosing their medical specialty, such as cardiology, pediatrics or oncology.

The emphasis of my work is mediumship: making connections with and delivering messages from people who are no longer living to those who still are. I receive information primarily and directly from the dead, spirit guides and angels.

While there are a few different forms of mediumship, I work as a mental medium, which means I communicate with spirits through the use of telepathy. Spirits impress my mind and body with thoughts and feelings that come in the form of "clairs." I mentally "hear" (clairaudience), "see" (clairvoyance), "know" (claircognizance) and/or "feel" (clairsentience) messages from spirits. I like to say that I act as the bridge between the spiritual and the physical world, with the intention of healing both worlds.

What Is a Medium?

One of the most common questions asked is what is the difference between a medium and a psychic. The term “psychic” is often used as a catchall phrase for anyone who works in the paranormal. We know what our five senses are—sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. But we have another sense that is equally as real as the other five. Often referred to as our sixth sense, psychic ability, or our intuition, this is the gut feeling or hunch you have that you cannot logically explain. Everyone is psychic to some degree or another, but not everyone is a medium.

A medium is a psychic who has fine-tuned his or her extrasensory perception and can interface with the spirits in other dimensions. They are able to feel and/or hear thoughts, voices, or mental impressions from the spirit world. A medium is able to become completely receptive to the higher frequency or energies on which spirit people vibrate.

Mediumship is much more involved than psychicism because a medium is opening him/herself to a discarnate energy. Mediumship itself can be broken down into two distinct categories. The first and most common type is mental mediumship, which is how I work with my abilities. I communicate with spirits while fully conscious. As the word mental denotes, this form of mediumship utilizes the mind—the intuitive mind, not the rational or logical part. This type of mental mediumship falls into several distinct types which are described as:

Clairsentience (clear feeling): Able to perceive information by way of emphatic feelings and emotions from spirit

Clairvoyant (clear vision): Able to see with the mind’s eye objects, colors, symbols, people, spirits, or scenes (these pictures are not visible to the naked eye and usually flash into the medium’s mind)

Clairaudient (clear hearing): Able to perceive sounds or words from sources broadcasting from a spiritual realm

Clairempathy (clear emotion): Able to sense or "feel" within oneself the attitude or emotions of another person

Clairgustance (clear tasting): Able to discern the essence of a substance through taste from spirit

Clairscent (clear smelling): Able to smell a fragrance or odor coming from the spirit

Clairtangency (clear touching): Able to perceive information about an article or its owner or history by holding an object or by touching someone or something (this ability is commonly known as psychometry)

The second type of mediumship is physical mediumship and it differs from mental mediumship. In physical mediumship, the actual physical body is used to obtain information from spirit. In mental mediumship, only the mind of the medium is utilized. Channeling is a well-known form of physical mediumship. A trance medium (someone who goes into a trance state to relay messages from the other side) is another type of physical medium.

Certain individuals are more prone to mediumship than others. Usually they must develop natural psychic abilities and mediumship skills over a period of time.

Other Legends

The Headless Horseman

The Headless Horseman is a mythical figure who has appeared in folklore around the world since the Middle Ages.  The figure is traditionally depicted as a rider upon horseback who is missing his head.

Description

Depending on the legend, the Horseman is either carrying his head, or is missing his head altogether, and is searching for it. Examples include the dullahan from Ireland, who is a demonic fairy usually depicted riding a horse and carrying his head under his arm; the titular knight from the English tale Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," a short story written in 1820 by American Washington Irving, which has been adapted into several other works of literature and film including the 1949 Disney animated film The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and the 1999 Tim Burton film Sleepy Hollow.

In Irish folklore

The dullahan or dulachán ("dark man") is a headless, demonic fairy, usually riding a horse and carrying his head under his arm. He wields a whip made from a human corpse's spine. When the dullahan stops riding, a death occurs. The Callahan calls out a name, at which point the named person immediately dies. In another version, he is the headless driver of a black carriage, the Cóiste Bodhar. A similar figure, the gan ceann ("without a head"), can be frightened away by wearing a gold object or putting one in his path.

In Scottish folklore

The most prominent Scots tale of the headless horseman concerns a man named Ewen decapitated in a clan battle at Glen Cainnir on the Isle of Mull. The battle denied him any chance to be a chieftain, and both he and his horse are headless in accounts of his haunting of the area. Among the Highland Scottish diaspora in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, seeing the image or hearing the sound of a horse or headless rider is traditionally regarded as an omen of an imminent death within the family.

In German folklore

In Germany, headless-horseman stories come mostly from the Rhineland. Rather than using decapitation, the headless horsemen killed their victims simply by touching them. They were revenants who had to wander the earth until they had atoned for their sins, sometimes by doing a good deed for a stranger, but instead of showing their gratitude by shaking hands, the stranger and the horseman held a tree branch between them and the branch would wither and die rather than the stranger.[8] Irving travelled in Germany in 1821 and had become familiar with Dutch and German folklore. In particular the last of the "Legenden von Rübezahl" ('Legends of Rübezahl') from Johann Karl August Musäus's literary retellings of German folktales (Volksmärchen der Deutschen, 1783) is said to have inspired The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Red Ghost of Arizona

The legend began in 1883 when two men left their ranch house near Eagle Creek to check on their cattle. While they were out, one of the ranchers' wives heard their dogs loudly barking, followed by a loud scream. She rushed to the window and saw what she described as a "huge, reddish colored beast" ridden by a "devilish-looking creature", and proceeded to lock her front door and wait for the men to come back. When the two men returned, they found the other wife had been trampled to death. The men followed the footprints left by the creature the next day and found red hair in a bush. A few days later a group of prospectors reported something tearing through their campground; red hair was later found at the site. The creature was again spotted just a few days later, this time being described as 30 feet tall, and knocking over two wagons, with red hair again being found. The legend would quickly spread with various tales being told; one described the creature killing and eating a grizzly bear, while another said it disappeared into thin air when chased, but all the tales agreed that the skeleton of a man was on its back. A cowboy tried to lasso the beast, but was knocked to the ground and nearly killed by it, not before seeing the figure on the back was a skeleton. A few months later a group of five men shot at the beast, missing the camel but shooting the head of the skeleton off, finding some hair and skin still attached to it.

The legend remained popular until 1893 when farmer Mizoo Hastings found the creature eating in his yard and proceeded to shoot it, killing it in a single shot. It was then discovered that the beast was a camel, with leather straps on the side stuck so tight that it was scarred. It remains unknown why a dead man was attached to the back, but various tales have appeared to explain it over the years, some saying it was a prospector dying of thirst who tied himself to the back hoping it would bring him to some water, while others say it was a soldier learning to ride a camel when it suddenly bolted off. The verifiability of some parts of the legend remains questionable, as some records are missing or have been lost over time.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

During the Westward expansion of the United States, military forces were looking for ways to ease transportation in arid regions. Throughout the early 19th century various proposals were made for camels to be used as pack animals, with a proposal by then Secretary of War Jefferson Davis finally being approved in 1855 with a budget of $30,000 in an experiment that would later become known as the Camel Corps. The process of acquiring camels began around the Mediterranean and eventually, 70 were procured. The project was originally a success, but due to the American Civil War, it was largely abandoned, with many supporters like Jefferson Davis joining the Confederacy. The camels were sold off or abandoned, with some being seen for decades afterward.

This structure was built in 1870 as a private home. Years later, it was acquired by a dentist, Dr. William Claudius Puffenberger. Sometime around 1917, Puffenberger sold the house to Harriet Chapman, who, along with co-owners Charles Stimson & Francis R. Blanchard (both doctors), turned it into a hospital in 1918. Only a few months after the hospital opened, Dr. Blanchard stepped into an open elevator door and fell to his death down the shaft.

This renovated hospital has sat on this property since the late 1800’s. There have been countless deaths natural and otherwise on the property and in the building. The building now occupies 4 apartments. Reports of loud noises stemming from the basement all times of the day and night. Voices, objects moving, and electrical appliances malfunctioning. Reports of children living in the apartments talking to “imaginary friends”. All described the same man and all getting at least his last name correct, although some children did mispronounce the name. A doctor reportedly lost his life after falling down the elevator shaft in the hospital

 THE G.A.R. MUSEUM

The G.A.R. Hall was built approximately twenty years after the Civil War ended. Its purpose was for the war's former soldiers to reunite, reminisce, and meet on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it was not to last.

In 1956, the Civil War veterans had all passed, causing the hall to cease operations. The hall began switching hands, seeing life under different guises: a bowling alley, dance school, and hardware store. Then, in 2013, the G.A.R. Hall became the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall Museum which remains so today.

Visitors have related their experiences of coming across apparitions of Civil War soldiers. Not just soldiers, but also the spirits of former members of the Women's Relief Corps, which used the building as their meeting place years ago. Others say they have heard voices coming from nowhere and the feeling of being followed through the building.

The Late Fr. The late Rev. Father Constantine Moussa was the church priest at the time of these apparitions. The apparitions lasted from only a few minutes up to several hours and were sometimes accompanied by luminous heavenly bodies shaped like doves and moving at high speeds. The apparitions were seen by millions of Egyptians and foreigners. Among the witnesses were Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants, Moslems, Jews and non-religious people from all walks of life. Guest: Floyd Wills, with a passion for the truth, Floyd has gratiously joined Jen and Joe on the 222 Paranormal Podcast to bring us the true tales of the legend ancient red-headed giants. His knowledge and insight on this topic leaves us with more questions than answers.

Nevada's Paiutes spoke of a race of statuesque red-headed cannibals who attacked and ate members of the surrounding tribes. Eventually, the Paiutes destroyed them in Lovelock Cave. In 1911, miners discovered the remains of giant red-headed mummies and thousands of artifacts. The artifacts were excavated and disbursed to several museums, but the mummies disappeared from public view. What happened to the giant mummies, and why were they hidden from the public? Floyd Wills's investigation into Lovelock Cave's mystery reveals compelling evidence that the red-haired giants' Paiute tales were true. Mr. Wills supports his belief with newspaper articles, Native American accounts of giants, eyewitness testimony, photographs of skeletal remains, and artifacts found in and around Lovelock Cave. Other strange historical topics covered include: the Nazca Mummies, the Flores Hobbits of Indonesia, the Biblical Giants or The Nephilim, the Elongated Skull People of Paracas Peru, the Ica Stones, and the Acambaro Dinosaur Figurines.
